Brazilian Waxing
Waxing for Thongs the Brazilian Way

Let’s not beat around the bush.

Brazilian waxing is a method of removing all of a woman’s pubic hair from the navel back to the tailbone except for a “landing strip” above the vagina. The outer labia is usually waxed, too.

Why did Brazil become the home of Brazilian waxing? The simple reason is that Brazilian women place enormous important on hair removal. It’s not possible to wear a string (“dental floss”) bikini or sequins in lieu of panties while riding a Carnival float without depilation.

The thing about Brazilian waxing is that it may not given the same effects in Buffalo as it does in Brazil. The warm, humid climate of Brazil keeps the skin open and relaxed, offering less resistance to waxing. Brazilian salons use wax from honeycombs, surrounding each hair its follicle and making it more likely to be removed. American and Canadian waxing salons may use other, even synthetic waxes that don’t remove the hair as completely.

Before waxing, the skin is dusted to soothe and dry it. Longer hairs are trims to give the wax a better chance to sink into the follicles, and so the waxing technician can get a better grip.

And a certain amount of athletic flexibility may be helpful:

In the doggy position, the technician may ask the client to lean on the elbows to spread the legs even wider. Some women find this embarrassing, considering what the technician is eye to eye with.

The yoga waxing position involved putting one leg behind your back (at a time) to give the technician maximum room for applying the wax and removing the hair. Stiff muscles, especially hamstrings, may result.

The upside down bicyclist is probably the most comfortable for most women. This involves lying on your back with your legs in the air.

Brazilian waxing is an extraordinarily effective method of pubic hair removal for women. Just be prepared to help the technician do her work well.
